From Cooperative Gameplay to Asymmetrical PvP
Fatshark has devised a way to break the repetitiveness of its cooperative campaign missions, which have captivated players for years. The solution? Versus Mode. This new addition introduces an asymmetrical PvP multiplayer format where some players continue to tackle missions while others aim to prevent their success.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Versus Mode Overview
Available on PC via Steam, Versus Mode delivers an asymmetrical PvP experience. Up to four heroes face off against AI-controlled enemies and up to four special player-controlled characters known as Pactsworn. Matches unfold over multiple rounds, with teams alternating between playing as Heroes and Pactsworn.

During each round, the Hero team embarks on a mission similar to Adventure Mode, while Pactsworn players, controlling Specials, work to thwart their progress.

New Challenges and Rewards
Players can select from the Five Heroes of Ubersreik or, for the first time, the Pactsworn characters, which include the Skaven and Rotblood Tribe, introduced after the first Vermintide game. Both factions offer unique characters to choose from, opening up fresh challenges and rewards.

These missions take place on redesigned original maps tailored for PvP, providing a fresh yet familiar experience. Each Hero features three evolution paths to master, and throughout the game, players can access new progression systems with exclusive challenges and rewards tied to Versus Mode. This update is designed to keep players engaged with exciting new content.

Free Update: Verminous Dreams
Coinciding with the launch of Versus Mode, the free “Verminous Dreams” update includes three new levels. The first level debuts on December 9, with the other two arriving in early 2025. In the weeks following the update, a roadmap is expected, detailing potential console release dates, new maps, and additional options to extend the longevity of this enduring game.
