PUBG unveils its 2025 roadmap

Since its launch in 2017, PUBG has laid the groundwork for this global phenomenon and influenced numerous developers. With the transition to Unreal Engine 5, significant improvements in visual quality and performance are expected, especially on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, allowing players to enjoy an experience with a higher frame rate.

One of the highlights of this update will be the addition of destructible terrain on the Taego, Miramar, and Erangel maps. This new mechanic will allow players to modify their environment during matches, which is sure to provide new strategies and dynamics in the game.

Additionally, Krafton is developing a project that will make it easier for the community to create and share their own creations, introducing a Team Deathmatch mode in custom matches.

The studio also plans to unify regular and ranked matches, with a revised ranking system that promises to be more rewarding. With balance patches scheduled every two months, expect constant weapon adjustments and the introduction of new ones, along with overhauls of less-used ones.

Bots’ artificial intelligence will also be revamped to offer more realistic in-game behavior.

Finally, hacker detection technologies will be implemented and security measures will be strengthened to protect player accounts, ensuring a safer and fairer experience. With these improvements in mind, PUBG fans have reason to look forward to a year full of new features.
