05 May Oblivion Remastered is now a reality
After days of speculation and leaks, Bethesda has just unveiled The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, an updated version of the fourth installment in the popular role-playing video game series now available for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.

The American developer, owned by Microsoft, held an online presentation to unveil the new features of this long-awaited update. Its first trailer, which can be seen below, showcases the dramatic visual leap forward in this new version.

Originally released in 2006, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of the most popular and successful Western RPGs of all time. Set in the medieval fantasy world of Tamriel, this new remaster was co-developed by Bethesda and studio Virtuos.

This updated version of Oblivion could be considered a remake rather than a remaster, as it offers substantial improvements in virtually every aspect.

While the game’s foundation is the same as the title released almost twenty years ago, the visuals have been completely revamped using the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine. The character models, buildings, nature rendering, and lighting system have all been completely updated.
