Nintendo 64 Games to Feature New Enhancements on Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo is bringing new life to its classic titles with enhanced features for Nintendo 64 games on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While retro content is already available to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, the new console will introduce exclusive functionalities that elevate the experience.

According to a recently released trailer, two features will be exclusive to the Switch 2: a rewind function and a CRT visual filter. The rewind option allows players to jump back a few seconds in gameplay — perfect for correcting mistakes without restarting entire sections. The CRT filter, on the other hand, recreates the look of vintage tube TVs, offering a more authentic retro gaming aesthetic.

While these two features are limited to the new hardware, a third enhancement will be available on both the original Switch and Switch 2: customizable controller mapping. Players will now be able to remap buttons to suit their personal preferences across all supported Nintendo 64 titles.

Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, with two retail options: a standalone console priced at €469.99, and a bundle that includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World for €509.99.
