07 Oct League of Legends, the trendy video game among Olympic medalists
One of the surprises that the last Olympics left us is that Pau Echániz is becoming a sensation on social networks. The young canoeist (he is 23 years old) has gone viral on social media for a tweet in which he shows his passion for League of Legends, and thanks to him we have discovered that he is not the only one.
The Riot games game seems to be one of the favorites of athletes at the moment. Pau Echániz showed that he is bronze in LoL and with a ‘threat’: “I will not leave the room until I get gold.”
This has even made the Spanish Olympic Committee react, which in a joking tone has asked that someone get the canoeist out of there, to force him to return to the channel: “We want him back in the canoe, we have been told that he is good at it…”.

But it has not been just them, since the current fastest man in the world, Noah Lyles, has also wanted to show his love for the game. First he reposted Pau’s post, and then he replied with: “That’s going to be me after the 4×100 meters.”
With these statements, Pau becomes the second Spanish medalist to reveal his taste for LoL. Three years ago, in Tokyo 2021, the Olympic climbing gold medalist, the Spaniard Alberto Ginés explained that he was also a player of the Riot Games title.

There are now two Spanish athletes who have won awards at the Olympic Games, proving that, in addition to enjoying their work – in which they excel above all – they also do so on the rift.
