Fortnite returns to the App Store

Fortnite returns to the App Store

After a few weeks in which the fight between Epic Games and Apple seemed to have no end, it seems they’ve found a solution, and the Apple company has agreed to allow Fortnite in its app store, available to users in both the United States and the European Union.

However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this, so we don’t know if Apple has finally decided to accept defeat and allow this game to be available to everyone, or if it will come back with some rule or law that would allow it to be removed again.

How to download Fortnite on iPhone in Europe
As we said, from now on, or at least for the moment, Fortnite is on the App Store. That is, we’ll just have to search for it, like any other game, and install it without any problems.

The game was removed in 2020 when Epic Games implemented its own in-app payment system, violating Apple’s policies. As a result, they’ve been in dispute for five years, barring it from being listed on the App Store.

Recently, a federal judge ruled that Apple cannot charge commissions or prevent developers from redirecting users to other payment methods outside the App Store. As a result, Epic Games resubmitted Fortnite for review using its developer account in Sweden. Initially, Apple rejected the request, so Epic sought legal help. Eventually, Apple gave its approval, and Fortnite is now available for download again in the United States.

This, as we said, could be temporary, since accepting Fortnite in the store will lead many other developers to use the same methods, significantly impacting Apple’s revenue. Apple doesn’t take a commission when making these payments outside its system. So, we’ll see if this all ends here, or, as we said, we could see Fortnite removed from the App Store again. It would be best to take advantage and install it now while we can. In the European Union, Fortnite has reportedly returned through both the Epic Games Store and the AltStore, so we have two ways to get it now.
