European legends arrive in Gran Turismo 7 in its new update

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Polyphony Digital have announced the availability of a new free content update for Gran Turismo 7, the racing title exclusive to PlayStation.

Featuring new cars in a variety of styles, including a rally legend and an iconic sedan from the late 1980s, the update also includes new menus and content to expand the single-player experience and a new update for GT Sophy, the driving AI exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version.

Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car: The Final Evolution of the Legend
Following the elimination of Group B from the WRC, the Italian brand chose the Delta as its new Group A car. It was equipped with a turbocharger and all-wheel drive. Six years of success followed with the Delta. A model that improved year after year until it reached this Integrale, the final evolution that reinforced its body and suspension with even larger wheel arches. It featured a rear-mounted spoiler for increased downforce, and torque distribution was shifted rearward, configuring the car as a rear-wheel drive car. In the 1992 championship, in which Carlos Sainz won his second world championship, Juha Kankkunen and Didier Auriol were the Lancia Delta’s great champions, securing the constructors’ title for the sixth consecutive year.

Citroen BX 19 TRS: a modern and renewed image
Presented at the 1982 Paris Motor Show, the Citroen BX was born as a response to all the doubts generated by its merger with Peugeot. It retains the brand’s characteristic elements, the image of classic models, but with a modern design and simple yet robust lines. Its designer was Marcello Gandini, the legendary Italian designer responsible for jewels such as the Lamborghini Miura and the Countach. Beyond its design, its hallmark remains its hydropneumatic suspension, which uses a nitrogen and oil system instead of the usual spring dampers. This system allows the car’s ground clearance to be freely adjusted, giving it a unique feel. The BX was a true success for Citroen, demonstrating that the French automotive industry remained a benchmark in innovation.

Peugeot 2008 Allure: The Compact SUV with an Unmistakable Design
The French manufacturer has launched numerous successful compact cars throughout its history, something that continued with the rise of SUVs in the past decade. The 2008, a success from its earliest versions, used the same manufacturing platform as the 208, resulting in a compact car measuring 4.3 meters in length and with a relatively low height. The headlights evoke the claws and fangs of a lion, which has become a hallmark of the brand. The interior features the 3D i-cockpit, consisting of a small-diameter steering wheel and a digital instrument panel displayed above it.

Along with these new vehicles, update 1.60 for Gran Turismo 7 brings all of the following new features:

GT Café: Extra Menu No. 46: Mercedes-Benz

World Tracks: The following new events are available:

  • Sunday Cup: Willow Springs International Raceway
  • European Sunday Cup 400: Watkins Glen
  • World Rally Challenge Gr. B: Colorado Springs
  • Gran Turismo Sophy: Next-generation driving AI is now available on the Alsace – Pueblo track
  • Scapes: Scotland has been added as a new featured location
