With the iPhone 19, Apple will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its phones

This won’t be just another series: it will be released in the same year that Apple celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, first introduced by Steve Jobs in 2007.

The information comes from a reliable source—Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist and respected voice in the Apple world.

In a recent report, he stated that Apple is preparing a “new and bold Pro model” for 2027 to mark two decades of iPhones.

That same year, Apple could also launch its first foldable phone. However, the spotlight will likely shine on the iPhone 19 Pro, which, according to Gurman, may fulfill one of the long-held dreams of Jony Ive—the iconic designer behind the original iPhone. The key? Thinness—so extreme that the device will resemble a “sheet of glass.”

This path is expected to begin this year with the iPhone 17 Air, rumored to replace the Plus version and feature an ultra-thin body just 5 to 6 millimeters thick. The iPhone 19 Pro will take this concept even further, with even more thinness and increased glass integration.

This will impact the device’s durability, but it seems to be a risk Apple is willing to take to bring real disruption to the series.

Naturally, with over two years to go before the iPhone 19 is introduced and released, details remain scarce. However, Gurman’s report opened the floodgates for speculation, confirming that the mobile industry is not just focused on the present.
