07 May Rubius said: “Twitch has something against streamers who go live every day.”
Rubius is one of the most popular streamers in Spain and around the world today. After a successful career as a YouTuber, the Spanish-Norwegian decided to move into the world of live streaming, choosing Twitch as the platform for it.

The truth is, although Twitch has remained the top platform for live content creation for years, many creators are far from happy with several of the measures the company has implemented. This dissatisfaction has even led many to migrate to Kick, the latest competitor to emerge in the sector.

And it’s not just about revenue-related decisions, which have caused many streamers (especially in Latin America) to switch to the green platform. Twitch has made many choices that are, at the very least, baffling to both streamers and viewers.

Rubius comments on Twitch’s policy that harms consistent streamers
Rubius brought attention to a policy that may have been unknown to many, as it hadn’t been publicly discussed or confirmed before. It’s a completely incomprehensible “policy” that explains one of the most frequently criticized issues with the platform.

This happened to one of Rubius’s viewers, and the streamer offered the following explanation:
“Guys, Twitch has something against streamers who go live daily, like me. I’ve been streaming for three days in a row, and the more days I go live, the fewer notifications it sends.”

He continued: “I talked about this with Twitch’s head. The reason they do this is because, in their minds, they don’t understand that someone who turns on the bell wants to receive the notification. Maybe they’re right, but according to them, the reason they don’t notify about streamers who go live several days in a row is that they think mobile app users will experience fatigue from receiving too many notifications.” It’s a completely nonsensical policy that penalizes content creators simply for being consistent in their work. Moreover, as Rubius himself points out, users activate notifications voluntarily—if they didn’t want to receive them, they could just turn them off.
