16 Abr NVIDIA’s Secret Weapon to Revolutionize Gaming
In the gaming world, NVIDIA has been integrating AI into its latest GPU generations, creating technologies like DLSS 4, which has led to major advancements such as multi-frame generation, exclusive to the RTX 5000 series. However, there are other features reaching more players that are equally important.

Smooth Motion is a technology designed to intelligently generate frames at the driver level in most games. This feature uses advanced AI algorithms to take gaming smoothness and fluidity to the next level.

Smooth Motion allows frame generation in games that do not natively support this technology, and it can be activated in titles running on DirectX 11 or DirectX 12. In simpler terms, this is NVIDIA’s answer to AMD Fluid Motion Frames, providing additional FPS in games. To enable it, simply go to the NVIDIA app, select your game, and activate the option.

NVIDIA has confirmed to DSOGaming that Smooth Motion will be compatible with RTX 4000 GPUs in a future update. This is a completely new driver technology that requires validation and quality control across multiple products.

Additionally, this reminds us of Reflex 2, a latency-reducing technology currently available for RTX 5000. In the coming weeks or months, it will roll out to all RTX cards, including the 2000 series. Meanwhile, NVIDIA continues working on improving Smooth Motion, aiming to make its quality as close as possible to a native implementation by developers.

Smooth Motion offers fewer visual artifacts, better frame generation, minimal input latency impact, VRR compatibility, and remains active during fast movements—making it a game-changer.
