Ash Ketchum’s Pokémon have won hundreds of battles

The original Pokémon series has been with us for over 1,200 episodes, in which we have followed the adventures of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu through the regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, etc. In each episode, he has managed to catch a long list of Pokémon that have helped him overcome all kinds of battles against gym leaders and against some very powerful rivals who participated in the Pokémon League.

Although Ash managed to become world champion in the final stretch of the series, the road up to that point has not been easy. Throughout the many seasons he has starred in, we have seen him win many battles, but also lose a large number of them, in which his Pokémon have received tremendous beatings and have been defeated.

If we base ourselves on which has been the best of all of them, the normal thing would be to think of Pikachu, given that there is no other that has emerged victorious in more battles, although it is also understandable because it is the only one that has accompanied Ash from the first to the last episode. However, this has also meant that it has been the one that has been defeated the most times.

Even so, if we take as a reference the percentage of victories of all the relevant fights (not the filler ones) in which all of Ash’s Pokémon have been involved, there is one in particular that could be considered the best of all because it has not been defeated even once in all the occasions in which it has come out to fight. You can see this much better in the following table, which shows the numbers that each one has obtained and which takes into account each of the fights fought between its different evolutionary stages, from the oldest to the most recent.

As can be seen in this data, Primeape is the only Pokémon of Ash that has not lost even once. The only time it came on the scene was in the episode “The Boxer Pokémon”, where it helped Ash win an exclusive tournament for Fighting-type Pokémon in which it defeated Machop, Machamp and Hitmonlee to win the P-1 Grand Prix belt. Unfortunately, Ash decided to abandon it after a character he met told him that he was going to train it to make it even stronger.

As for the lower part of the list, Noivern and Gliscor did not fare too well in most of the encounters they had, despite the fact that they are both very powerful Pokémon. Of course, not counting Pikachu, the ones that have been knocked unconscious the most times have been Sceptile and Torterra, with 13 occasions each, but in the case of the latter it is even worse because it only defeated eight Pokémon while accompanying Ash on his travels.
