10 Ene Robert Smith Reveals Two Tracks Likely to Feature on The Cure’s Next Album
In a recent interview with Radio X’s John Kennedy, Robert Smith revealed exciting details about The Cure’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to their 2024 LP Songs of a Lost World. Smith confirmed that the new album will include tracks that didn’t make it onto Songs of a Lost World, as well as some entirely new material. Notably, the album will feature “It Can Never Be The Same,” a song about grief that Smith has been performing for years, originally known as “Christmas Without You.”

Smith also mentioned a track titled A Boy I Never Knew, describing it as a sad song exploring themes of loss and humanity’s distant past. He reflected on the wealth of material The Cure has accumulated over the years, including songs dating back to 2010, and teased the possibility of another album being released as early as next summer. Additionally, Smith hinted at a third, completely different project, filled with “random” late-night studio sessions.

The new record promises to showcase The Cure’s signature dark yet heartfelt sound, building on the success of Songs of a Lost World, which topped UK charts for the first time in 32 years. With more music on the horizon, fans eagerly await what the band has in store
