08 Nov PlayStation Prepares to Welcome Over 1,400 Classic Games
PlayStation fans are in for an exciting September filled with much-anticipated updates. In addition to the imminent release of *Astro Bot* on the 6th of this month and the increasing rumors about the announcement of the PS5 Pro, Sony has announced a new addition to its catalog: Antstream Arcade. This cloud platform provides access to over 1,400 classic games from consoles like Amiga, Game Boy, SNES, and ZX Spectrum, allowing players to relive nostalgic experiences.
To enjoy this extensive library of retro games, users will need to subscribe to Antstream Arcade. The platform offers two options: an annual subscription for $44 or a lifetime subscription for $120. Starting on September 6, PS5 and PS4 users will be able to access this platform directly from their consoles.
Meanwhile, speculation about the release of the PS5 Pro continues to grow. Several reports suggest that Sony might officially announce its new high-end console during a State of Play event in the coming weeks. Journalist Jeff Grubb has fueled the rumors, claiming that the PS5 Pro could become Sony’s most expensive console to date, with an estimated launch price between $600 and $700.
This potential price increase is notable, considering that the PS4 Pro launched at the same price as the standard PS4 at the time. However, given the increase in the price of the PS5 and the lack of signs of a price reduction in the short term, Grubb’s prediction doesn’t seem so unexpected. If Sony continues its strategy of maintaining the value of its new hardware, a price hike for the PS5 Pro could become a reality.
September is shaping up to be a pivotal month for PlayStation fans. With the release of *Astro Bot*, the arrival of Antstream Arcade, and the possibility of an official PS5 Pro announcement, Sony is preparing an exciting end of the year full of new releases and surprises for its gaming community.
