11 Sep Logitech and Kingston Updates for Gamers
Kingston has unveiled the new XS1000 external SSD, a remarkably tiny drive now available in red with both USB-A (traditional) and USB-C connections. Although this storage unit was already available in Argentina, the new colour option and multiple connections make it a noteworthy addition. It can transfer data to PCs, consoles, and smartphones at speeds of up to 1060MB/s, with storage capacities of up to 2 terabytes—truly a substantial amount of storage. As an external drive for consoles, it can triple the storage space of a PS4 or double that of a PS5, and it can also be used for backups or transferring information to smartphones or computers. It will be arriving in the country in the coming weeks.
In the realm of internal drives, Kingston also showcased its new SSD, the NV3 (M.2 2280), an M.2 NVMe PCI Express 4.0 model that expands internal storage up to 4TB for various types of computers, with transfer speeds reaching 6000MB/s for both writing and reading. This represents a significant upgrade from the previous generation, the popular NV2. Note that this SSD does not come with its own heatsink, so it is not officially recommended for use in a PS5, for example, but it is compatible with third-party heatsinks, similar to other non-cooled SSDs.

The most exciting update from Kingston might be the launch of their high-end, limited edition DDR5 Fury Renegade range. These have officially arrived in the country, boasting speeds of up to 9200MT/s in overclocking tests. The standout feature is that they will be available in 2x24GB kits (with 8 chips of 3GB each per module) of 24 Gbit, hand-selected with factory speeds of 8000MT/s. Additionally, they feature a unique design with customisable LED lighting and carbon fibre accents, giving them a truly one-of-a-kind appearance, with only 1000 units available worldwide.

In the world of peripheral hardware, Logitech has introduced the Logitech Pro X 60, their new high-end gaming keyboard, in Argentina, in collaboration with the esports team funded by Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi, Krü. This keyboard, announced internationally in April, was designed in conjunction with professional esports players to ensure top-tier design and performance, with optical switches and wireless connectivity via Logitech’s exclusive Lightspeed technology to minimise latency (it can also be used wired).
It’s important to note that this is not a full-size keyboard, but a compact (60%) version that lacks a numeric keypad, function keys, and directional keys; it’s more suited for gaming than office use. Lightweight and sleek in both design and materials, it represents the pinnacle of the brand’s offerings. It features GX optical switches and RGB Lightsync lighting for customisation to your exact preferences. Similarly, with the KEYcontrol system, you can also customise each key.
